This website is designed to assist you
in writing your application to both of the ARRA 2009 FOA announcements.
Please
click on the navigation bar for “drop-in” language to assist with your
funding application. This includes
a detail description, budget and budget justification.
This website is developed by the Directors of
Health Promotion and Education (DHPE) and includes resources from the
University of North Carolina, Gillings School
of Global Public Health, the University of Texas, School of Public
Health, Austin Regional Campus, and the Michael and Susan Dell Center for
Advancement of Healthy Living and other national partners who have been
involved in developing training, tools and workshops to assist
communities and public health professionals implement evidence-based
policy practices.
DHPE is a national nonprofit association
dedicated to protecting the public’s health through proven programs and
policies. We promote the use of
prevention policies and programs nationally, within state governments and
agencies, and with community partners.
DHPE members are dedicated to improving the health of all
Americans. Each state health
agency has a primary lead member to DHPE. They can provide valuable information
about community coalitions, policy strategies and act as a liaison to
prevention and health promotion initiatives.
This
website is intended to assist in writing your application. Each of the sidebar links provides a
description, budget and budget justification for a specific
resource. You may copy and paste
this language into your application.
A letter of support is also linked at the bottom of the page with
permission to copy and submit this with your application. If you will be including a resource
identified on this website, please let us know so that we can prepare for
your participation in the next several months.
In order
to achieve sustainable change we highly recommend workforce development
resources. If you focus on
workforce development around policy competency-based skills, you will
have the expertise to continue this important work after the two-year
grant period
Highly recommended
resources that have been developed in conjunction with CDC include:
Competency-Based Policy
Training; Competency-Based Policy Training of Trainers; Policy Fellowship
and Internship opportunities.
You will want to jump start your community coalition
with a Policy Stakeholder Summit or Technical Assistance.
